Expensive Limited Options Poor Customer Service

Well. The staff wasn kinda sorta helpful. Was just looking for a simple magnetic battery for a magnetic cart. Cheapest one they had was 35. No deals no options no alternatives. They were out of a perfume I wanted to buy but he said they were out of stock and unsure about reordering more. I suggested it was probably a good idea since it was a good seller and he acted disinterested and instead of at least offering to sell the tester. But that's just me

Poor Customer Service Defective Product Rude Employee

Only rating a one because it only took One employee to ruin my experience. Shopped there for the first time on Christmas Eve evening to purchase a few vape batteries. The employees were very polite and helpful. Realized on Christmas evening that one of the batteries would not work. The day after Christmas, I went back to ask if I could replace the defective battery. A male employee with blue hair and a foreign accent (he had on a mask), asked how he could help me. I explained my situation, told him exactly what I bought, presented my receipt and battery, and he told me he would be more than happy to help me. He tested the battery himself, and agreed that it wasn't working. He then took my receipt to look it up in their computer. He pulled up my receipt, and upon this is when his pleasant attitude changed for the worse. He then held up my battery and receipt, and told me that my receipt did not show that particular battery being purchased. I told him again which batteries I bought, and that Christmas Eve was the First time I had entered this store. He again said that the battery wasn't on the receipt. I told him that this issue wasn't my problem, regarding what the previous employee logged in as what was purchased. He then Rudely told me it Was my problem because he had no proof that I had bought it. I then told him to look up the video footage at the same time as the receipt, and that he would Indeed find me purchasing different brands of batteries. I told him for a Third Time, which batteries I bought. He then went and grabbed another brand that was different from the defective one, scanned it, and supposedly 'found' my purchase by doing that. He then went on to lecture me, explaining how he was doing Me a favor, and that he wasn't even supposed to replace the battery due to their no refund or exchange policy. I told him I understood. I was trying my best to stay composed, considering the way he was treating me. He then rings up the battery, prints out the receipt, sets both the replaced and the dead battery in front of me as well as the receipt, and says 'Next time you have a problem, Don't come here, because it Is Your Problem! Call the battery company!' I said, 'Awesome, thanks! I'll Never step foot in here again!' He said, 'Ok Good! Have a nice day!'
If he had told me from the beginning that there were no refunds, I would have respected that and left. Some companies exchange items, while others don't. Again, it was my first time shopping there. Instead, he greeted me openly, then completely changed his demeanor all because He originally couldn't validate my purchase, basically treating me like a person scamming to have the cheapest battery there replaced (they were the cheap $15 batteries).
The Only reason I went there was by a referral. Another shop that I frequent advertised a discount at this smoke shop upon presenting their receipt. I left the smoke shop and complained to the referral shop about what had happened. A couple of those employees apologized, and stressed that they value me as a top customer who is Very kind to them. They also offered to help me from this point, on any batteries or accessories I may need in the future. That is True customer service!
Sad thing is I wouldn't be surprised if this employee was a manager or owner. The way I also heard him speak to the female employee there, made me feel sorry for her. Very demanding and bossy. It almost felt as though he puts women in a category where they are 'beneath' him. Very uncomfortable atmosphere and will Definitely be searching for a more Respectable smoke shop.
